Bio
Hi, I'm Lydia, a London based actress and a graduate from East 15 drama school. I have experience in both stage and screen performance; classical and contemporary.
I'm skilled in armed and unarmed dramatic violence, theatrical firearms, puppetry, and physical theatre.
During my degree, I explored a multitude of high-stake scenes and as a result I got to experiment with high emotions and vulnerability. I find these types of scenes really rewarding to portray, as you are almost always playing someone who is at their lowest, at their weakest, and the sense of catharsis you can create is incredible. Through this I also found confidence in exploring and portraying character and story through physicality and breath- not just through dialogue. I love to bring this approach to all the projects I work on as I believe it results in a layered and nuanced performance.

RECENT WORK
A midsummer night's dream

Created in association with Compass Collective, on the 21st June they held a number of simultaneous readings and performances of this iconic Shakespeare play to raise money for Refugee Week. We were lucky enough to perform in the Bush Theatre's Studio space.
Pillow forts, fairy lights, potions and magic. This was an all-female performance, and wanted to capture the energy of girls having a sleepover and putting on a show for themselves
Lydia played Bottom but with a twist, whilst still playing with the comedy she and director Robyn wanted to lean into the love of Bottom and Titania, that is isn't a joke for them. So when Bottom awakes and Titania is no longer there, the following monologue wasn't for laughs, but a heartbreaking realisation
This show was an absolute joy, put together in only 7 rehearsals. Featuring singing, dancing, shadow puppetry and stage combat

Mary jane's

last dance
A short film inspired by films like 28 Days Later and From Dusk Till Dawn and created by MetFilm School London. During a zombie apocalypse, two strangers- a guilty survivor and a protective father to be- are trapped in a warehouse, where only one will make it out alive. The film follows Mary as she tries to find her sister after they became separated. But being isolated from the collapse of civilisation, she's naive of how the world has changed, but must choose to trust others in order to survive

The film has just entered the festival circuit and has already won best Short Film and Best Actress
As well as being selected at the Florida festival: 'Melbourne Independent Festival'. It's also been selected at Birmingham's Horror Film Festival

IMMODEST
A Fracassantes Production Super 8 film

Created for the Straight 8 film competition: 'one film cartridge, no editing'
As you don't edit the film, you are only allowed one take per shot. This provides a unique acting experience, a blend of film and theatre acting that requires such attention and specificity. In Immodest, 14 actresses moved in unison throughout the film, so required a lot of attention

Immodest is inspired by real diary entries from nuns from the 17th Century, and is drawn heavily from the biography of one of the most famous queer nuns; Benedetta Carlini. She was considered a Saint in her lifetime, but her status was ripped away from her when an investigation uncovered her romantic relationship with fellow nun, Bartolomea
Immodest was in the Top 8 for Straight 8, screening at Cannes Festival and The BFI IMax

the herds
From April to August 2025, life-size puppet animals will sweep through city centres on a 20,000km journey from the Congo Basin to the Arctic Circle, fleeing climate disaster. THE WALK PRODUCTIONS presents large scale participatory public art that brings together artists and partnerships of many kinds, creating events of artistic excellence, challenging assumptions, rethinking narratives and provoking change. In 2019 they created the journey of Little Amal
Led by producers David Lan and Tracey Seaward, Artistic Director Amir Nizar Zuabi and Executive Producer Sarah Loader, The Herds stampeded into London via Tower Bridge. They went on to perform with Matilda the Musical, The Royal Opera House, Somerset House and Saddler's Wells East
This was a true once in a lifetime opportunity, and was an immensely incredible thing to be a part of

Just a girl
A Bastet Production sci-fi short film.
In the vein of British dystopian tales like Children of Men and The Girl With All the Gifts. In a world where there are no women left, a girl escapes the facility to find her family. Lydia plays the lead role: Katie, a girl held in a facility for as long as she can remember. When she escapes, she must choose to trust again in order to survive.

Lydia won Best Actress at the 'Feel the Reel International Film Festival' for this role, as well as being nominated at multiple festivals for the same accolade.

on the blunt end

A heartfelt drama short film set in the world of British rock climbing. When Jade discovers that her younger sister (Lydia) has been accepted to a new job she tries to keep the information from her in an effort to delay the inevitable change in their relationship. But when the truth is revealed their relationship is tested. The story takes place over the course of an evening out climbing.

On the Blunt End recently won the 'Mario Bello' award. Given to the film that best captures the spirit of the Trento Film Festival, an outdoors festival in Italy.
THE EATING OF SIN

A GM Visuals Production. Set in rural 17th-century Britain, this short film focuses on the Welsh folk tradition of Sin Eating. A ritual performed to allow the deceased to be washed of their sins and enter heaven. Lydia plays Isabelle, a desperate woman of the village who must perform the ritual and follow one rule: do not judge the deceased
Filmed in the Little Woodham Living History Village in Gosport
